About me

My name is Kelly. I am a graduating from Penn State in August. I'm majoring in Education Public Policy and Sociology. I start real world work in October... I'm not ready.


I love cycling, running and hiking. I need to have chocolate every day. I'm a morning person and work hard to make sure I get my full 8 hours of sleep. I love wine and champagne. I have an unhealthy obsession with my dogs. I ride horses as often as I can. Oatmeal is a staple in my life... its a breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack food. I love food. I love fitness. I'm an instructor at Penn State and an expert in eating all kinds of food. Finding a balance between the two has always been a huge challenge. I've struggled some with weight loss and gain and I've had to reevaluate and figure out that my health is not about the size of my pants or the number on the scale. Its a balance of my mental, physical and emotional well-being.


This realization is a long time coming. Is it always easy? No. But, my goal with this blog is to share my love of fitness and food and realize that I can have my cake and eat it too!


I've been inspired by the many food/health/fitness bloggers who show me new foods and more. I'm writing this not because I'm an expert, but because I hope someone out there identifies with my stories and is just like me... a work in progress.
